Rosewood: An Autobiography
Chapter 1: Introduction
I am Rosewood, and this is my story. It is also a God story, because without God this story would not have come to pass or be written. Every life story is unique in many ways; but because of the very special intervention of God throughout my story, it carries valuable insight into His character and the way He works in this world. So, at His insistence, I am sharing my story with you. I pray that it will both bless you and inspire you to aspire to new heights in your relationship to God in your own life.
My first memories are of the beautiful 2 ½ acre property on the lake and the large home where my life began. God had already done a great work in my parents and to prepare this place to be the site of my coming to be, which I will share with you in the next chapters. However, my infancy in this idyllic location was very similar to what you would imagine it would have been like in Eden. All of creation seemed to be in harmony. There were plants and animals of all kinds that lived there and there was a sense of God's presence and great peace.
The internal space of the house was divided into two sections. There was a private living space on one end, and a working area on the other. In between, there was a place of meeting – meeting both with God and with those He sent to visit and share with me. During this early time, I was learning, growing and being formed into God's design for me and given a vision for my purpose and destiny in this world. I will also share more of that process with you in upcoming chapters.
Most importantly, what I am called to share with you is not just my personal journey from birth to adulthood, but to awaken you individually and as a human community to God's perfect plan for you in this world, and how you can recover that destiny if you have lost sight of it as Adam and Eve did when they believed the lies of Satan and were banished from Eden.
